Restaurant Near Kensington, London
Book NowKensington is a buzzing hive of activity, especially for tourists looking to take in the capital’s famous sights and attractions; the renowned Victoria & Albert Museum, The Science Museum and the Natural History Museum are all within a stone’s throw of each other. There’s also the small matter of Kensington Palace if you’re seeking a little taste of royalty.
Whatever you’re doing in the area, food will be on the agenda at some point - and when it comes to restaurants near Kensington, Zelman Meats should be on the (very) shortlist…
Food, glorious food
The menu at Zelman Meats isn’t the biggest you’ll find at Kensington restaurants, but there’s plenty of variety with a focus on quality - especially when it comes to the meat, as you might expect.
Starters are every bit as inviting as the main event - Lobster Croquettes, King Prawn Tempura and Beef Carpaccio just three of the dishes on offer.
Then it’s onto the main course - and with a name like Zelman Meats, it’s not surprising that the headline acts are great cuts of steak - starting with two classics from Canada, both grain-finished Angus beef from the prairies in Alberta. There’s the wonderfully tender Picanha - which was first popularised in Brazil; if you like a little more marbling fat for a fuller flavour, then ask for the Rib-eye.
Striploin from Brazil is a juicy cut of grain-finished Black Angus beef, while the Holstein grass-fed Fillet from Poland is the softest, most tender cut of beef you’re likely to eat anytime soon.
Love ribs? Who doesn’t! As crazy meat eaters, Zelman’s Short Ribs are everything you’d want and more - USDA, slow cooked with BBQ sauce. Amazing.
Can’t decide on a steak? Simply order the Zelman Plate - a cut of each to share (please note this is for a minimum of two people).
With great cuts of beef like this, it’d be easy to overlook the side dishes and sauces - but do that at your peril - they are every bit as good. All of our meat is halal.
Sauces include sriracha mayo, chimichurri, peppercorn or BBQ; sides range from charred hispi cabbage, triple-cooked chips, black truffle and parmesan chips to a mean superfood salad and roasted heirloom carrots.
Wet your whistle
At Zelman Meats, as much care is put into the drinks menu as the food… especially when it comes to cocktails.
There are classics (with a twist), mocktails and a fair few highly originals in there; there’s a Tropical Manhattan, Pornstar Martini, Zelman Daiquiri, Pina Colada and the intriguingly named Rapple - Malibu Rum, Cloudy Apple Juice, Raspberry.
Tequila lovers will adore the Smoky Margarita - Corazon Blanco Tequila, Monte Alban Mezcal, agave, lime juice, apple juice and Spicy Rib Rub; or how about the Zelman Mojito 2.0 - Pampero Blanco Rum, Framboise, raspberry, chilli, lime Juice and mint. An amazing combination of flavours.
We mentioned classics ‘with a twist’ - the Old Fashioned is subtitled ‘To The Bone’ because it uses Beef Fat Washed Buffalo Trace Whiskey alongside Malbec syrup and celery bitters for an incredible hit of flavours.
We also have a broad selection of wines available.
If you’re a non-drinker or simply having a night off from the booze, Zelman Mocktails pack a punch of flavour without the alcohol - the selection includes a delicious Virgin Pina Colada, Mango & Raspberry Lemonade, Virgin Mojito and Red Passion - grenadine, lemon, elderflower and lemonade.
