Steak Restaurant Near Mayfair
Book NowAt Zelman Meats, steak isn’t just another ingredient on the menu - it’s a passion, an obsession.
From sourcing the best cuts from across the globe - be that Canada, Brazil or Poland - to giving expert guidance to guests on which steak might suit them best and then cooking it exactly to their liking, Zelman Meats is the place to go for similarly-minded crazy meat eaters.
Choose your cut
The world of steaks can be a little baffling at first - so many different cuts of beef, some with more than one name depending on what part of the world you’re eating in. Don’t despair, as top steak restaurants such as Zelman Meats want you to enjoy the experience to its fullest, so they’ll guide you through the process, talk you through the various cuts, advise how you might like it cooked and also suggest side dishes and wine pairings.
There are four main steaks at Zelman, including two classic Canadian cuts, both grain-finished Angus beef from the prairies in Alberta. There’s Picanha - which was first popularised in Brazil (sometimes it’s called rump cap), which is wonderfully tender; if you like a little more marbling fat for a fuller flavour, then ask for the Rib-eye.
Striploin from Brazil is a juicy cut of grain-finished Black Angus beef, while the Holstein grass-fed Fillet from Poland is the softest, most tender cut of beef you’ll eat.
There are sides and sauces to choose from to add to the experience - sriracha mayo, chimichurri, peppercorn or BBQ; charred hispi cabbage, triple cooked chips, black truffle and parmesan chips, superfood salad, roasted heirloom carrots.
Can’t decide on a steak - then the Zelman Plate is what you’re looking for, a cut of each to share (minimum two people).
Drinking companions
Whether it’s a glass of wine, a chilled cider or something non-alcoholic, the drinks list at Zelman Meats is a great companion to the mouthwatering meats.
The cocktail list is something to behold - from the unique Old Fashioned ‘To The Bone’ (Buffalo Trace Whiskey, Beef Fat, Malbec Syrup, Celery Bitters) to a Smoky Margarita and a classic Mojito.
Having the night off when it comes to drinking? Then choose one of the flavour-full (alcohol-free) mocktails - such as Summer Sunrise (Grenadine, Lemonade and Orange), Virgin Pina Colada (Pineapple, Sugar Syrup, Coconut Cream) or Rosemary Power (Rosemary Syrup, lemon, Cloudy Apple, Cranberry).
As well as all that, there’s an array of soft drinks, including Coke, Diet Coke, ginger beer and an array of fruit juices.
Beer and cider means names like Meantime, Peroni Libera and the alcohol-free Lucky Saint, while the wine list takes you on a journey from Sussex to South Africa, Austria to Australia.
